Mask week: Art Journal

Hi,
Remember yesterday I mentioned "messy fun" when using the templates/masks and misters? Well, it looks like Neil had great fun on that one? Don't you think?
Neil used the following Tando masks on his Art Journal page

To create my journal page I just kept adding layers and layers of colours and textures until I was happy with it! So no plan, I just started with the Union Jack mask in the top right page, sprayed cosmic shimmer colours then taking the mask, flipping it over and adding it to the other side to transfer the colour. I added some gesso through the cogs mask and the random circles mask too, sprayed more colours through the masks with more sprays, and also some paint. I used the distress stain picket fence to lighten areas as well as splat some on the page to add lightness.
I added various stamped images along the way too. Everything signifies aspects of Britain from the Lion, compass and crown.
There is a lot happening this year; from the Jubilee to the Olympics, lots of reasons to celebrate and have loads of national pride! The lettering has been done in black marker and white pen adds doodled interest!
